Q: OH GOD, some maps have HUGE trees/ferns/missing objects!
A: Make sure Paged Geometry is Off, found in game in Options->Settings
Q: Can I submit a preset?
A: Yes. In direct messages to Vaynrat or Gracey, or email [email protected] as a ZIP.
Q: Jumping is weird/I can't jump?
A: You need to turn V-Sync ON. On the main menu of Glasmar select "Rendering". The game will close. Open it again and the rendering options will be there. Turn v-sync on / to "Yes"
Q: What do I do if I get "ad1.dat.cfg file not found"?
A: Run the game as administrator. Right click on Glasmar.exe and go to compatibility mode, then check "Run this program as administrator"
Q: When I try to climb the walls in Sanila Cave System I get stuck, or teleport back to the beginning?
A: It's to keep people from cutting across the map. Explore the tunnels and have fun getting lost. Be glad Gracey made it and not Vaynrat, he's very masochistic. And also apparently a bit sadistic.
Q: Do you have an official forum?
A: No, but we do have an official roleplay forum. It's SPECIFICALLY for roleplay. We will never post guides or game updates to this forum. http://glasmar-rp.boards.net/
Q: I get an error that tells me it can't write to root (or something like this)!
A: Is your game folder in ProgramFiles/ProgramFiles x86? Change it to the C drive C:/ - I know, they're all in the C:/ but ProgramFiles x86 has stricter permissions even if you're the admin account. Move it to the C drive and it should run.
Q: How do I access the initial rendering screen to change windowed mode/resolutions/vsync/etc?
A: In the main menu of the game there is a button called "Rendering". Click this. It'll close your game without warning. Next you launch it the rendering options will appear before the game launches!
Q: My anti-virus program said there's a virus in Glasmar, what do I do?
A: When we build and send out Glasmar there is no virus in it - if there is a virus in your game it is because of something else on your PC unrelated to Glasmar, and all we can do is recommend a full virus scan on your PC using a good anti-virus program, such as Malwarebytes (https://www.malwarebytes.com/) or Avast (https://www.avast.com/en-us/index#pc)
(We recommend you use both of these on your PC even if you don't have any virus alerts going off!)
If you are using Norton, we will not help you beyond telling you that you should uninstall Norton and use a better antivirus. It's bloatware, intrusive, and in simple terms: a pain in the ass. It'll falsely detect and quarantine IT executables claiming them as viruses, even if they have none.(https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/2bdgd1/eli5_why_is_norton_antivirus_bad/)
Q: I'm having a Line 91 Error / Direct X is not working or corrupted. What do I do?
A: What you'll need to do is re/fresh install DirectX9. With Microsoft changing their links around we need to go about it in a round-about way. First you'll need to make sure your firewall is not the reason this is happening - with that ruled out we will go onto the next step. First you need to install this library from this link (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109). Now be sure to listen because this is a two step process - After choosing which folder to install to (can be on the desktop in its own folder) do NOT unzip any of these files. What you need to do is scroll down until you see DXSETP.exe, right click and run as administrator and let it install.
Q: I can't access the rendering subsystem options! (DirectX/OpenGL Selection) How do I access this?
A: On the main menu of Glasmar you will see the option "Rendering". Select this and the game will close. Upon launching it again the rendering subsystem options will display.
